Venture capital investments. Digital and Crypto economy

2017 saw «Square Meter» immersing in a completely new, rapidly growing high-tech industry - the crypto economy. By making some test investments of our own capital and supporting through participation in ICOs and pre-ICOs some promising startups, whose services we found to be in demand and business models well thought through, we embarked on venture capital investments, opening a new page in our business. In particular, we participated in the pre-ICO of a Russian-Irish startup CONFIDEAL, which was in 2017 awarded a grant by the Irish government for the development of a user application for smart contracts based on the Ethereum platform (ERC20).

Having collected a pool of promising startups and investigating new opportunities for venture investments, «Square Meter» held first investment conference for blockchain-startups in Monaco in November 2017. The conference was aimed at attracting the attention of the conservative financial establishment in the Principality to new opportunities associated with the digital economy. It was also focused on venture capital investment opportunities. The conference was held at the Hotel Hermitage and attracted about 80 guests including banks, family offices, legal firms and the Department of Economic Development of the Principality. Among other things, the discussion focused on legal issues and regulation of the industry in different countries.

Presentations were made by startups that were well known in the blockchain community, such as UNIVERSA, QURREX, CONFIDEAL, INS, SAIFU and others. The conference was led by the industry’s authority figures - Reuben Godfrey, co-founder of the Blockchain Association of Ireland, Head of Cryptocoast.org and Professor Paul Ennis - crypto scientist, lecturer in University College of Dublin.

Promising startups that have interesting breakthrough ideas based on blockchain-technologies are invited to present their projects and ideas for fund raising purposes to cover their needs of projects development. We are particularly eager to see announcements of new projects that offer totally new services for the tokenization of real assets, including real estate, as well as services to support transactions in digital assets based on smart contracts.

«Square Meter» is keeping a close eye on the crypto economy and its latest trends and developments, including the gradual advent of long-awaited regulation in the industry. We fully support the statement that the invention of blockchain is comparable to the invention of the Internet and can quickly change the world. We will try to keep up with the advancement of technology and continue our investigations into promising projects for the long-term venture financing of cutting edge developments.
